Rent a car
While it is possible to drive from Napoli Centrale to Sorrento, we do not recommend this mode of transfer. Naples traffic can be chaotic and the ride is not particularly scenic. The journey will take at least an hour if the traffic is good. If you want to rent a car to explore the Amalfi Coast, you can rent one in Sorrento itself.
If you are determined to do it, there are car rental offices outside the station at Piazza Garibaldi – to check car rental prices from Napoli Centrale click here
The driving route from the station is via the A3 towards Salerno-Reggio Calabria. You turn off to Sorrento at the Castellammare di Stabia exit for the Statale 145 peninsula road to Sorrento. When you arrive, there are several parking garages to leave your car but hopefully you have chosen accommodation with parking. Recommended parking – Il Correale, Via Correale, 25, behind Parco Lauro.
